Therapist

Carter joined Rise in March of 2025 after seeking a transition from an inpatient and residential setting to an outpatient clinic. Carter says, “Rise’s strong reputation in the community made the decision an easy one, and he is grateful to be part of a team that values compassionate, client-centered care.”
Carter completed both his bachelor’s degree in psychology (2021) and his master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (2023) at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. Interestingly, he began college as an English major with dreams of becoming an academic writer specializing in medieval literature. Although he still writes regularly and hopes to pursue academic work in the future, a life-changing experience in his own therapy journey ultimately inspired him to shift his path toward psychology and counseling. Experiencing firsthand the impact that therapy can have, he knew he wanted to offer that same gift to others.
Carter believes deeply that every person’s story matters and deserves to be heard. Providing a safe and meaningful space for clients to share their experiences is not just his work, it is an honor.
He and his wife, Katelyn, met in college and married in 2023. They share their home with their dog, Milo, and their cat, Eevee. Outside of work, Carter embraces his “nerd” side with a love for books and coffee-making. He also enjoys long-distance running, baking, film photography, and spending quality time with friends and family.
